Elva Brasel

Elva A. Brasel, age 94, of Perham , MN , died Wednesday, August 27, 2008 , at the Perham Memorial Nursing Home.


Elva Anna (Huwe) Brasel was born October 8, 1913 , in Corliss Township , rural Perham , MN , the daughter of Otto and Anna (Butke) Huwe. She attended country school in Corliss Township and was married to Walter William Brasel on September 23, 1936 . Her greatest blessing was her twelve children, twenty-nine grandchildren, and thirty-eight great grandchildren. Elva also enjoyed embroidering, making potholders, solving crossword puzzles, and playing solitaire. She spent her last years at Perham Memorial Nursing Home where she made many friends.



Elva is survived by twelve children, Donald (Carole) Brasel, Fargo, ND; Leroy (Connie) Brasel, Fargo, ND; Gerald (Shirley) Brasel, Perham, MN; Melvin (Joyce) Brasel, Perham, MN; Doris (Glenn) Jaakola, Perham, MN; Viola (Wayne) Lako, Arthur, ND; Larry (Linda) Brasel, Dent, MN; Arlo (Sandy) Brasel, Detroit Lakes, MN; Eldon (Carol) Brasel, Perham, MN; Noreen (Alden) Selander, New York Mills, MN; Connie (Chuck) Bortle, New York Mills, MN; and Donna (Walter) Seifert, Perham, MN; a sister, Cora Brasel, Perham, MN; twenty-nine grandchildren; and thirty-eight great grandchildren.



Preceding Elva in death are her parents; husband, Walter; grandchild, Dwight Brasel; sister, Pauline Wendt; and two brothers, Art and Herb Huwe.
