Eugene Klinnert

Eugene Knute Klinnert was born on May 13, 1940 in Perham, MN and passed away on December 6, 2025 in Perham, at the age of 85. He was under the care of Moments Hospice.

He was the son of August and Ethel Klinnert. He grew up in Dent, MN and graduated from Perham High School. He raised his family in Brandon, SD.

He was a successful salesman and had great people skills. He traveled in Texas, North Dakota, South Dakota, Iowa, Minnesota and Wisconsin. He made many friends during his travels. He worked for Benjamin Moore Paint Co., Fargo Glass and Paint and Sioux Falls Glass and Paint. He started and ran his own carpet, paint and sundries operation in Sioux Falls. He was active in the Optimist Club in Brandon, SD.

Eugene was a snowbird and traveled to Phoenix, AZ for 20 years. He was able to continue golfing, dancing and “shooting the bull” with friends. During summers he enjoyed his cabin on Lake Ida near Vergas, MN. He was always happy to share a fishing adventure with his friends.

He is survived by his son, Terry Klinnert; daughters, Robin Roeder and Rhonda Miller; siblings, Gerrie Marcy, Eunice Bennett, Mary Barnhart, Vincent Klinnert, Larry Klinnert; and many grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Bonnie; brother, August; and sister, Lavonne Harrison.

Visitation will be 9:00-10:00 a.m. followed by the Funeral Mass at 10:00 on Tuesday, December 16, 2025 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Dent, MN. Burial will be in Saint Michael Catholic Cemetery in Sioux Falls, SD. A recording of Eugene's Funeral Mass will be available a few hours after the service has ended.
