Evelyn Bistrom

Evelyn Bistrom, age 90, of Perham , MN , died Thursday, April 23, 2009 , in the Perham Memorial Nursing Home.


Evelyn was born March 6, 1919 , in Perham , Minnesota , the daughter of Ernest and Louise (Keerbs) Ebeling. She attended St. Paul ’s Parochial School through the eighth grade and then went on to the Perham High School . Following graduation she worked at Ben’s Café in Perham. After her marriage to Leo Bistrom on April 27, 1942 , Evelyn worked alongside him on the family farm near Richville , MN , for over 50 years. In 1995 they sold the farm and moved to Perham. Leo died in February 2001. In September 2003, Evelyn entered the Perham Memorial Nursing Home where she resided until her death.



Evelyn is survived by two sons, Joseph (Carole) Bistrum; and James (Elaine) Bistrum; three grandchildren, Becky Henry; Steven (Fay) Bistrum; and Kellie (Scott) Secrest; four great grandchildren, Matthew Secrest, Nicholas Henry, J.P. Henry, and Haley Secrest; one sister, Elaine Rust; and one sister-in-law, Edna Laney.



Preceding Evelyn in death are her parents; husband, Leo; and three brothers, Wilfred, Melvin, and Raymond Ebeling.
