Fay Evelyn Fleming, 92, of Perham, MN, died at her home, Tuesday, February 28, 2012
Fay was born in Corliss Township, rural Perham, MN, the daughter of John and Myrtle (Bull) Schmidt, on October 16, 1919. Following her high school education, she attended two years of art college. On October 26, 1938, Fay married Lambert E. Bauck. Lambert died on November 18, 1959. Fay remarried, to Allen Fleming and, later, divorced.
Among Fay's hobbies were cooking, gardening where she was "The Tomato Queen", flowers and patio petunias and creating wonderful pieces of art in oils, watercolors and charcoal. Fay authored and published two children's books. She loved to entertain families at her home and talking on the telephone.
Surviving Fay are two daughters, Judith Von Ruden, New York Mills, MN, and June Burgau, Kallispell, MT; five grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren and fourteen great-great-grandchildren.
Preceding Fay in death is her husband, Lambert; two brothers, Lyndon and Everett; a twin sister, Mae and a second sister, Marion.
