George McLaughlin

April 27, 1930 — February 16, 2005

Funeral services for George John McLaughlin, age 74, of Perham, MN, will be Monday, February 21, 2005, at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Perham, beginning at 11:00 a.m., with Reverend David Rieder officiating. Burial will follow in the St. Henry?s Catholic Cemetery, Perham. Visitation at Schoeneberger Funeral Home, Perham, will be from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m., Sunday, February 20, 2005, with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. George died at the Perham Memorial Nursing Home, Wednesday, February 16, 2005.



George was born on April 27, 1930, the son of Aloysius W. and Theresa (Scheidecker) McLaughlin, in Luce, MN. He grew up and attended school in Luce. In 1946, George started working for Luce Concrete, and in 1951, he entered the U.S. Army and served during the Korean Conflict. Following his honorable discharge from the Army, in 1953, George continued working at Luce Concrete until 1971. In 1972, he started working at Tuffy?s Pet Foods in Perham until his retirement in 1995. George was an avid fan of the Perham Yellow Jackets and attended most of the football, basketball and baseball games. He also enjoyed gardening.



Surviving George is his mother, Theresa McLaughlin, of Perham, MN; three sisters, Marie (Jim) Delaney, of White Bear Lake, MN, Jeanette (Norman) Rosenow, of Perham, MN and Dorothy (Ben) Kieselbach, of Park Rapids, MN; with nieces and nephews and thirteen great-nieces and nephews.



Preceding George in death was his father, A.W.; one great-nephew and numerous aunts and uncles.
