Geraldine Olson

Geraldine (Gerry) Amanda Olson, 80, of Perham, MN, died at Someplace Special in Perham, November 24, 2011. Geraldine was born September 14, 1931, in Ottertail, Minnesota, the daughter of Diedrich and Anna (Stuekaenschmidt) Bormann. She grew up on the family farm in Ottertail and attended school in Ottertail. On September 14, 1953, Geraldine was united in marriage to Harvey George Olson. They had three children, Norman, Ronny and Paul. After their marriage, Geraldine and Harvey settled in Perham where they were long-time members of St. Paul's Lutheran Church. When all of the children were of school age Geraldine began working at Tuffy's Pet Food and later at Perham Memorial Hospital and Home where she worked with the Meals on Wheels program. She loved flowers and maintained flower beds and tall lilac hedges all over the family yard. In addition, Geraldine and Harvey always had two large vegetable gardens that helped to feed their growing family.
Surviving Geraldine are her children, Norman, San Diego, CA, Ronny (Marlyn), Wilmington, DE and Paul, Benton, AR; three grandchildren, Aaron, Jessica and David; and two great grandchildren, James and Aiden. Geraldine also has one remaining sister, Clara Mohr, and one brother, Reinhold Bormann.
Preceding Geraldine in death are her parents; husband, Harvey, in 2005; 7 brothers and 8 sisters.
