Glen Harthun, age 70, of Dent, MN passed away on Saturday, September 29, 2012 at his home in Dent. A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 5, 2012 beginning at 11:00 am at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Dent, MN, with Pastor Dan Abrahams officiating. Visitation will be held Thursday, October 4, 2012 from 5:00 pm – 8:00 pm with a prayer service at 7:00 pm at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Dent, MN. Visitation will also be held at the church one hour prior to the service. Burial will take place at the Immanuel Lutheran Church cemetery.
Glen was born on October 23, 1941 near Dent, MN to Andrew and Edna (Ellingson) Harthun. He loved visiting with family and friends and spending time with his grandchildren. He enjoyed duck hunting, deer hunting, fishing, and playing with the dogs. Glen also enjoyed watching the MN Twins and Vikings, watching TV, and listening to country music. He drove truck his entire life.
Glen is survived by his children, Melody (John Jr) Zehner of Gilbert, AZ; Cameron (Culleen) of Detroit Lakes, MN; Crystal (David) Collins of Dent, MN; and Holly Dahl of Ottertail, MN. He is also survived by four brothers, Raymond (Patty) Harthun of Dent, MN; Larry (Jane) Harthun of Rothsay, MN; Leroy Harthun of WA; and Marlin Harthun of Dent, MN; two sisters, Elaine (Roger) Kawlewski of Dent, MN; and Linda (Kenny) Aune of TX; eight grandchildren, John Zehner III of AZ; Steven Harthun of Fargo, ND; Cameron Harthun Jr. of Japan; Nicole Harthun of Moorhead, MN; Amanda Collins of Fergus Falls, MN; Andrew Collins of Dent, MN; Brianna Bennett of Dent, MN; Blaine Bennett of AZ; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He is preceded in death by his parents, a brother Harold, and a sister Carol (Harthun) Hexum.
