Gloria Rice

Gloria Rice, age 66, of Richville , MN , died peacefully at home with her family at her side on Friday, June 27, 2008 . Funeral services will be held Tuesday, July 1, 2008, beginning at 11:00 am at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Dent, MN, with Father Arlie Sowada officiating. Burial will follow in the Richville Village Cemetery , Richville , MN . Visitation will be held Monday, June 30, from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Schoeneberger Funeral Home, Perham , MN , with a prayer service at 7:00 pm and one hour prior to services at the church.





Gloria Ann Rice was born
July 20, 1941 , in South St. Paul , MN , the daughter of John and Josephine (Emerson) Sporsic. On August 1, 1959 , she was united in marriage to E.C. Rice at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Little Canada, MN. In her spare time, Gloria enjoyed sewing, baking, cake decorating, bowling, dancing, and motorcycling with Dad. She very much enjoyed her cruise to the Virgin Islands with her mother and friend, Geri. Her greatest memories were the times spent camping with family, doing puzzles with Dad, being at the lake lot, playing dominos with friends, and spending time at Cozy Cove but most of all being with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.






Gloria is survived by her husband, E.C.; two sons, Rick (Hope Wilford), New York Mills, MN; and Stevey, Brainerd, MN; three daughters, Lisa (Duane) Thalmann, Perham, MN; Theresa Wick (Mike Butterfield), New York Mills, MN; and Tina (Perry) Becker, Perham, MN; a sister, Marce (Arlen) Swenson, Hackensack, MN; fifteen grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren.







Preceding Gloria in death are her parents; a sister, Janet; two brothers, Jonny and Charlie; and a grandson, Danny Rice.
