Helen Bahls

October 7, 1914 — December 14, 2003

Helen Ann Bahls, age 89, of Perham, MN, died on December 14, 2003 at the Perham Memorial Nursing Home. Funeral services at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Perham will be Friday, December 19, 2003, beginning at 11:00 a.m., with Reverend David Rieder officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation at Schoeneberger Funeral Home in Perham is Thursday, December 18, 2003, from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m., with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m.



Helen was born on October 7, 1914, the daughter of Bert and Barbara (Dulski) Skibitzki, at her parents? farm home in Corliss Township, rural Perham, in Otter Tail County, MN. She was the oldest of six children.



Helen married Harry Bahls ,on September 27, 1937, at St. Stanislaus Church where she had been a lifelong member. Helen belonged to St. Stan?s Christian Mother?s Society and was an active member of the Senior Center of Perham as well as a lifetime member of the VFW Post 4020 Auxiliary in Perham. She enjoyed her flowers, playing cards and spending time with her family.



Surviving Helen are her daughters, Barbara (Jay) Petrin, of Portland, OR, Marilyn (Dave) Gilbertson, of Pelican Rapids, MN, and Ann (Joel) Bratvold, of Ashby, MN; one son, Jerry (Linda) Bahls, of Fisher, MN; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; two sisters, Marion Bucholz, of Perham, MN, and Florence Scheidecker, of Minneapolis, MN and many nieces and nephews.



Preceding Helen in death is her husband, Harry, on November 22, 1981; her parents, one brother, Anton and two sisters, Catherine Guck and Tina Sazama.
