Helen Lenius

Helen Lenius, age 88, of Perham , MN , died Saturday, January 30, 2010 , at the Perham Memorial Nursing Home.


Helen was born November 19, 1921 , in Corliss Township to Ernest and Amelia (Huwe) Ogroske. Helen was baptized and confirmed at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Corliss and attended school in Corliss Township . Helen was united in marriage to Edwin Lenius on October 14, 1940 , and lived in Edna Township most of her life. She enjoyed helping on the dairy farm, her family and grandchildren. Later in life she was fortunate to have traveled through most of the United States and other countries. She loved spoiling the grandchildren and having picnics by the lake with the family.



Surviving Helen is her husband, Edwin, and five children, Gary (Marge) Lenius, Two Harbors, MN; Warren (Sylvia) Lenius, Winnipeg, Canada; Mark (Barbara) Lenius, Perham, MN; Alice (David) Wenzel, Frazee, MN; and Beth (Ted) Rose, Henning, MN; sixteen grandchildren and eighteen great-grandchildren; and a sister, Esther Johnson, Perham, MN.



Preceding Helen in death are her parents; sisters, Margaret Arndt, Martha Kraus, Lydia Lucke, Ruth Derke, Ida Meyer, and Millie Matson; and three brothers, William, Edward and Emil Ogroske.
