Henry Bleichner, age 82, of Ottertail, MN, passed away on Tuesday, June 24, 2025, at Good Samaritan Society in Battle Lake, MN, where he was surrounded by his family.
Henry (Hank) Albert Bleichner was born on January 14, 1943, in Hopkins, MN, the son of Henry and Agatha (Johnson) Bleichner. Hank was raised in Perham, MN, and graduated from Perham High School. He began working at Perham Jobbing Company, marking the start of a lifelong career in sales.
On July 8, 1963, Hank was united in marriage to Elizabeth (Betty) Jung. He and Betty raised their three children in the St. Cloud area. While in St. Cloud, Hank worked for Oak Grove Dairy, St. Cloud Jobbing, and Granite City Jobbing, where he earned the nickname, “Candy Man” and his love for chocolate.
Prior to retirement, he spent many years at his cabin on the Ottertail River and thoroughly enjoyed being outdoors. After retirement, Hank moved back to the Ottertail area, where he built his house along with his significant other, Gail Enright. Hank had a love for his dogs, hobby farm, hunting, fishing, landscaping, and woodworking. You would find him in the garage putzing around building birdhouses, ice fishing decoys, crosses, walking sticks and hanging out at the Otter Treat visiting with customers.
One of Hank’s greatest joys in life was spending time with his children, grandchildren, and extended family making memories with lots of laughter, and treasuring every moment. Hank will be missed by many and remembered for his jokester personality.
Hank is survived by his son, Rick (Janet) Bleichner of Battle Lake; his daughter, Sheri Lochner of Sartell; five grandchildren, Brittany (Shelby) Trosdahl, Brock (Brooke) Bleichner, Mitchell (Halie) Lochner, Ashley (Devin) Lochner, and Justin (Britt) Nwadiashi; four great-grandchildren, Teddy and Turner Trosdahl and Brooke and Odin Nwadiashi; son-in-law, Forrest Herbst; along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives.
Preceding Hank in death were his parents; his daughter, Lisa Nwadiashi-Herbst; his sister, Joyce Anderson; and his brothers, John Bleichner and Donald Bleichner.
A visitation will be held 10:00 - 11:30 a.m., followed by the Memorial Mass at 11:30 on Monday, June 30, 2025, at St. Lawrence Catholic Church near Perham. Burial will be in St. Stanislaus Catholic Cemetery in Perham.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Good Samaritan Society in Battle Lake for the wonderful care Hank received over the past four years. We would also like to thank Vivie Hospice Care for their support in his final journey home.
