Jacqueline Florence (Weis) Friedsam, age 86 of Perham, MN died Wednesday, October 30, 2019 at the Hadley House comforted by her family and caregivers.
Jackie Weis was born January 8, 1933 in Perham to Rudy and Mary (Zielinski) Weis. After graduation from Perham High School she opened her own beauty salon. Jackie was united in marriage on September 3, 1954 with Thomas Friedsam. Together they had four children: Dan, Jim, Kathy and Mark. Jackie worked many years at Thrifty White Drug in Perham and later in life worked in the kitchen at Perham Public Schools until her retirement.
Jackie will be remembered as a loving mother and grandmother. Jackie enjoyed playing cards, preparing holiday meals, shopping, reading, dancing and spending time with friends and family. Jackie was a lifelong member of St. Henry’s Catholic Church where she enjoyed celebrating her faith. Jackie was also rarely ever seen without her loving sister Mary Jane.
Surviving Jackie are her children Dan Friedsam, Jim (Coleen) Friedsam and Kathy (Robert) Sim; her grandchildren Curt Friedsam, Travis Friedsam, Cassandra (Justin) Scholten, Jessalyn (Nick) Thompson, Chris Sim and Keith Friedsam; and eight great-grandchildren.
Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband Tom; her son Mark; niece Mary Ella Coates; and her sister Mary Jane Coates.
Visitation will be 5:00-8:00 p.m. with a rosary at 6:30 and parish prayers at 7:00 on Tuesday, November 5 at Schoeneberger Funeral & Cremation Service in Perham. Visitation will resume from 10:30-11:30 a.m. followed by the funeral Mass at 11:30 on Wednesday, November 6 at St. Henry’s Catholic Church in Perham. Burial will be in St. Stanislaus Catholic Cemetery in Perham.
