Jacqueline Souder

Jacqueline “Jackie” F. Souder, age 74, of Perham, MN, died Wednesday, December 16, 2009, at Innovis Health, Fargo, ND.


Jackie was born March 1, 1935 , in Cass Lake , MN , the daughter of Lawrence and Georgina Holland but was raised by her grandparents, Harry and Clara Hill. She married Richard Goss on March 10, 1950 , and together they had five children; Cynthia, Richard, James, Leilani and Connie. Jackie’s grandparents owned a restaurant so she started out early in the business as a child.



In 1971 Jackie married Jasper Souder in Bemidji , MN . She worked with Jasper in two restaurants in the Bemidji area. They moved to East Grand Forks, MN, where Jackie worked in a bakery for a few years and then at the University of North Dakota Food Service Department until she retired from UND due to injuries from a car accident. She and Jasper then moved to the Lakes area where they operated a restaurant in Henning , MN , for seven years until selling the business and moving to Perham where they lived for thirteen years. Tired of apartment living, Jackie and Jasper moved to Frazee , MN , where they currently live.



Jackie is survived by her husband, Jasper, Frazee, MN; five children, Cynthia Goss, Bloomington, MN; Richard (Connie) Goss, Fargo, ND; James (Gerry Ann) Goss, East Grand Forks, MN; Leilani (Rick) Westrum, Delano, MN; and Connie Goss (Bruce Walker), Bloomington, MN; ten grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren.



Preceding Jackie in death are her parents and first husband, Richard Goss.
