Janice Wientjes

April 3, 1933 — January 17, 2013

Janice Wientjes, age 79, died Thursday Jan 17, 2013, at The Cottages in Park Rapids, MN. A funeral mass will be held on Tuesday, January 29, 2013 beginning at 11:00 AM at St. Henry's Catholic Church with Father Matthew Kuhn officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the funeral mass at the church. Burial will take place in St. Stanislaus Catholic Cemetery, Perham.

Janice was born on April 3, 1933, in Gorman Township, Perham, to Frank and Fronie (Stodolka) Steinbach. Janice worked at Ebeling's Cafe before marrying John Wientjes on May 28, 1953 at St. Henry's Catholic Church. They moved to North Minneapolis after their wedding and then to Maple Grove before retiring to Big Pine Lake in Perham. They then moved to a condo in the town of Perham and in January 2012 to assisted living in Park Rapids. Janice loved the lake and fishing and looked forward to the grandkids coming over on weekends in the summer to swim. She enjoyed spending many a Saturday evening playing cards (Schmier) with family and friends; more recently, before moving to Park Rapids, playing Whist with Arlene and Delores and John.

Surviving Janice is her husband, John of Park Rapids, MN; son, Ron (Barb) of Lindstrom, MN; daughter, Kathy of Park Rapids, MN; three grandchildren, Dan (Gwen) of Park Rapids, Brandon (Fiancé Ally) of Fargo, and Ashley of Moorhead; two great-grandchildren, Derek and Evan; and sister, Delores Minten of Perham.

Preceding Janice in death are her parents; siblings, Walter, Henry, Raymond, Clarence, Mary, Martha, and Arlene; and son-in-law, Bill Minten.
