Julie Cooper, age 99 years, 6 months, and 10 days died on Monday, June 10, 2013 after a brief illness. A memorial service has been held.

Julie was born on November 17, 1913 in Stillwater, Minnesota, the daughter of Frank and Mary Hittle. She graduated from Mora, Minnesota High School before earning a teacher's certificate from St. Cloud State Teacher's College. She attained her Bachelor's Degree and Master's Degree from the University of Minnesota – Duluth. Julie served in the Navy during World War II, stationed in Washington D.C. as a decoder. She and Merle lived in various places including South Dakota, Iowa, Missouri, Minnesota, and Texas. Julie retired from elementary education in Silver Bay, Minnesota in 1975. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Dent.

Preceding Julie in death are her parents; her husband, Merle; daughter, Jackie Pherson; brother, Alexander; and sister, Elizabeth Burnett.

Surviving Julie are her three daughters, Mary (Fred) Bauck; Barb (Eddie) Zappa; and Kitty (Chip) Ennenga; granddaughter, Jenny (Kenny) Williams; and three great-grandchildren.
