Julie was born on February 12, 1958 at Bemidji Hospital, Bemidji, MN to Lucille (Kinsella) and Roderick Matheson, and was the youngest of six children. She was baptized in Northome, MN at Hope Lutheran Church, by Pastor Hans Nelson. Julie attended Northome schools and graduated in 1976, and later moved to Perham, MN where she worked at the Perham Nursing Home. There, she met and was united in marriage to Gene M. Davidson on November 20, 1977. They moved to the cities and had three beautiful children; Jeremy J, Melissa A, and Cheri J. She worked at a local restaurant in Circle Pines, MN for a many years and later worked for a construction company for 10 years where she was known to some of her co-workers as "Pyscho Betty". She retired in 2006 because of health issues. Julie enjoyed crafts with her friend Carrie, and playing cards with her friend Kandy. Julie also liked to knit, and loved her flower garden; especially her lilies and hand-me-down peonies given to her by her Dad before his passing. Some other hobbies included fishing, and recently taking up her childhood love for horses again. This past summer she purchased a horse named Tucker, where she spent hours riding him alongside her friend Diane and her horse Mack. She enjoyed music and would listen to her "favorite tunes" for hours. This past fall she and her husband attended the Fleetwood Mac concert at the Target Center.

Julie is survived by her husband of 37 years, Geno, her children, Jeremy (Karla) Davidson of East Bethel, MN, Melissa (Faron) McCleary of Perham, MN; 6 grandchildren, Kayla, Evalyn, Jakob, Dylan, Lily and Brody; brothers, Lanny (Carla) Matheson of Alvwood, Jack (Kathy) Matheson of Cottonwood, CA, her sisters Twyla (Ray) Kilmer of Bemidji, MN, Ann (Dan) Siats of Hudson, WI, brother-in-law Dennis (Shirley) Davidson of Perham, MN, sister-in-law Cindy Davidson of Perham, MN; many friends, nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her daughter, Cheri Jean Davidson; her parents, Lucille and Roderick Matheson; and her brother, Al Matheson.
