Kathleen "Kathy" R. Guck, age 91 of Perham, MN died Thursday, June 12, 2014 at Sanford Health in Fargo, ND. Visitation will be held on Sunday, June 15 from 5:00-8:00 PM with parish prayers at 7:00 PM at Schoeneberger Funeral Home in Perham. Visitation will resume on Monday, June 16 at St. Henry's Catholic Church in Perham beginning at 10:00 AM followed by the funeral mass at 11:00 AM. Burial will be held in the church cemetery.
Kathleen Ruth Wash was born on May 25, 1923, the daughter of Edward and Helen (Oswald) Wash in Wadena, MN. She was the younger of two children. Kathy grew up around Bluffton, MN, graduated high school from Wadena and went on to graduate from St. Cloud State University. She was united in marriage to Arthur "Johnny" Guck on February 20, 1947 in Minneapolis, MN. Together they had two children, David and Kenny. Johnny died on June 2, 1985.
Kathy was a very, very active lady living life to its fullest. She was an active member of the Perham VFW Ladies' Auxiliary, the American Legion Auxiliary, the Perham Red Hat Club and TOPS. Kathy volunteered at the ITOW Museum in Perham, Turtle Races and was involved with the Catholic Daughters. She loved to travel on bus tours. Kathy often boasted about being the oldest; helping others take their pills.
Preceding Kathy in death are her parents; her husband, Johnny; and her brother, Jack.
Surviving Kathy are her sons, David (Dianna) of Indianapolis, IN and Kenny (Jeanne) of Perham; and two grandsons, Mike and Ryan, both of Perham.
