Kay Miller

Kay A. Miller, age 76, of Richville , MN , died Sunday, April 11, 2010 , at the Perham Memorial Home after a two year battle with ovarian cancer.


Kay was born on June 9, 1933 , in Breckenridge , MN , the daughter of Dr. Kenneth Allen and Lois Zimmermann. She graduated from Breckenridge High School , attended Southern Methodist University and graduated from the University of MN with a degree in Retail Marketing. Following graduation, Kay married Tom Marr and together they had two daughters, Alison and Robin. They spent several years in Libya where Tom was employed by Mobile Exxon. Her second marriage was to Don Miller and they lived in Houston , TX , and St. Thomas , US Virgin Islands , where Don died. Kay lived 19 years in St. Thomas , the last few as owner of a popular candy store, “A Chew or Two”. She moved back to Minnesota on Ottertail Lake in 1994.



Kay is survived by her daughter, Alison; brother, Rob Zimmermann; sister-in-law, Marylou; four grandchildren, Nik and Sarah Schaefer; and Jeremy and Logan Schotroff; sons-in-law, Lee Schaefer and Adrian Schotroff; an aunt, Roberta Shackner; three cousins, Jane, Julie and Kit; and her partner for the past 28 years, Dick Evans.



Preceding Kay in death are her parents and daughter, Robin.
