Kelly Sazama

Kelly Joe Sazama, age 28, of Richville , MN , died Thursday, December 31, 2009 , at the Perham Memorial Hospital .


Kelly was born October 20, 1981 . Kelly was raised in the Richville area and graduated from Perham High School in 2000. He then continued his education at the Detroit Lakes Technical College for Auto Body and graduated in 2002. Kelly worked on several farms in the area while in high school and also at C. A. Picard and Wreck-a-Mended. He met April Carlson in 1998 and they were just friends until 2005 when they got engaged. Kelly started trucking in 2003, driving for a few different companies until he purchased his own semi in 2008 working with John Papenfuss Trucking until the time of his death. He purchased his rural Richville house in 2006 working on it to make it just they way he wanted it; adding additions and building a large shop where he spent most of his spare time. Kelly loved spending time with his friends and fixing and wrenching on something, whether it be for himself or a friend. He also built mud runners that he and April enjoyed in the summer along with bonfires and snowmobiling in the winter. Kelly lived life to the fullest!



Kelly is survived by his fiancé, April Carlson, Richville, MN; mother, Pam Tietz, Richville, MN; sister, Amanda (Keith) Malvick, Audubon, MN; nephew, Riley Malvick, Audubon, MN; grandparents, Jim and Karen Wells, Richville, MN; grandmother, Delores Sazama, Vergas, MN; father, Paul Sazama; and many aunts and uncles.



Preceding Kelly in death is his stepfather, Del Tietz and grandfather, Bernard Sazama.
