Kenneth O. Fluck

Kenneth “Ken” Orren Fluck was born March 6, 1942 at home in Buffalo Lake, MN, the son of Orren and Orabelle (Lindberg) Fluck. At a young age, Ken started hunting and fishing; he loved to bow hunt. He graduated from Buffalo Lake High School and attended one year of college at St. Cloud State University. Ken then started working for Pillsbury where he met Donna Karjala. Ken and Donna were married in 1965 and together had two children, Jody and Cory. They lived in Crystal, MN and in 1973 bought a lake place near Osakis, MN. Ken loved fishing, both in the summer and winter, snowmobiling, and boating. In 1975, they moved to a hobby farm in Maple Grove, MN where the family enjoyed horseback riding and the company of many cats and a dog. In 1983, Ken left Pillsbury, and with his business partner, started their own company trading commodities. In 1992, Ken and Donna came to Ottertail, MN and in 1995, at the age of 53, he retired. Ken was a good dancer and music was one of his many hobbies.  He loved to entertain! In 1995, they purchased a place in Arizona where Ken enjoyed golfing and getting together with friends and family, all of whom he loved. Then in 1998, Ken bought a place at the Northwest Angle. Ken went to meet the Lord on Saturday, May 6, 2023.

Preceding Ken in death were his parents and his infant sister.

Surviving Ken are his wife Donna; his daughter Jody (Michael) Dalton; his son Cory; grandchildren Sarah (Cole) Montgomery, Jared (Cathrine) Maciej, and Michaela (Taylor) Opay; great-grandchildren Georgia, Jane, William, Emily, Violet, and John; his sister Roxanne (Gordon) Kath; nieces Terry (Jon) Otto and Kathy Davis; and three great-nieces and their children.

The Celebration of Ken’s Life will be at the Ottertail United Methodist Church with visitation beginning at 11:00 a.m. followed by the Memorial Service at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, May 19. Lunch and fellowship will follow the service at the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
