Leslie G. Konley

Leslie G. Konley was led by the angels to paradise on January 4, 2024.

Leslie was born on February 19, 1936, to Leslie G. Konley and Margaret Ann (McAvoy) Konley in Chicago, Illinois.

He attended school at St. Cajetan Grammar School, one year at St. Ignatius High School, and graduated from Mendel Catholic High School and received a Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering from the Illinois Institute of Technology.

In 1958, Les was married to Sandra Derringer. Together they suffered the death of an infant daughter, Mary Ann. The couple adopted Leslie C. Konley in 1966, and Sandra passed away in 1968.

Les met and married Prudence L. Konley in 1970. He and Pru lost and infant daughter, Tina Marie, in 1971. They were blessed with two sons, Richard in 1973 and Scott in 1974. The family relocated to Dent, MN, in 1988.

Les enjoyed traveling in his work, which took him around the world, often accompanied by his wife Pru. He had a private pilot’s license, and enjoyed hunting, fishing, golf, flying R/C airplanes, and was a member of the Knights of Columbus. Les was a loving husband, father, grandfather, uncle and great uncle.

Leslie is survived by his wife, Prudence Konley; sons, Leslie C. (Elizabeth) Konley, Richard (Taylor) Konley, and Scott (Jessica) Konley; grandchildren, Trevin, Cassia, Reed, Harlan, Liam, Brooks, and a baby granddaughter, Paisley, expected in April; and brother-in-law Patrick Joyce.

He is preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Sandra; infant daughters, Mary Ann and Tina Marie; sister, Eileen (Konley) Murphy; brother-in-law Jerry Murphy.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 7, 2024, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Dent, with a Rosary at 6:00 p.m. and Parish Prayers at 6:15 p.m. Visitation will resume at the church at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, January 8, followed by the Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. Interment to be at Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery in Dent.
