Lorraine Johnson

November 10, 1927 — September 3, 2013

Lorraine E. Johnson, age 85 of Perham, MN died on Tuesday, September 3, 2013 at Sanford Health in Fargo, ND. A funeral mass will be held on Saturday, September 7, 2013 beginning at 11:00 AM at St. Henry's Catholic Church in Perham with Father Matthew Kuhn officiating. Visitation will be held at Schoeneberger Funeral Home on Friday, September 6, 2013 from 5:00-8:00 PM with parish prayers at 7:00 PM. Visitation will also be held one hour prior to the funeral mass at the church. Burial will be held in St. Stanislaus Catholic Cemetery, Perham.

Lorraine was born on November 10, 1927 in Long Prairie, MN to Mike and Mary (Mikel) Spychala. She grew up in a log home on a farm near Browerville, MN. She attended Browerville High School. After high school, Lorraine attended Staples Normal and received her teaching certificate. Later she earned her teaching license from Moorhead State University. She taught school for many years. She started teaching at a one room school house in Luce and also taught at St. Joe's, St. Henry's and finished her teaching career at the public school in Perham.

Lorraine was united in marriage to Clarence "Pat" Johnson on January 12, 1952. They were married for 36 years and were blessed with two children, Mary and Joe. Her hobbies included gardening, fishing, ceramics, art projects, bowling, shopping and collecting many things. She also loved to travel with her good friend Cal. She was also very active with church activities and the Lakes Lions.

Preceding Lorraine in death are her parents and her husband, Pat.

Surviving Lorraine is her son, Joe (Lynn) Johnson of Perham, MN; her daughter, Mary (Keith) Isaacson of Blaine, MN; four grandchildren, Patrick Johnson, Katie Johnson, Jeff Isaacson and Jay (Renee) Isaacson; and her sisters, Gerri (George) Jagush of Browerville, MN and Rosie Johnson of Browerville, MN.
