Louise Schmelz

Louise Schmelz, age 98, of Perham , MN , was born to eternal life on Sunday, June 27, 2010 .


Louise was welcomed into this world on October 30, 1911 , by her parents, August and Elizabeth (Fiedler) Guck. Louise lived with them until her marriage to Albert Schmelz on August 31, 1933. Together they farmed three miles outside of Perham and she remained on the farm until she moved to Perham a few years ago. Louise worked as a cook at the Perham Memorial Home for many years. She enjoyed cooking, gardening and playing cards.



Louise is survived by her daughter, Jeannette Hoskin, Las Vegas, NV; two sons, Jerome (Joanne) Schmelz, Oshkosh, WI; and Donald (Judy) Schmelz, Perham, MN; six grandchildren, Erika, Derk, Jason, Sara, Gretchen and Abigail; ten great grandchildren, Jacob, Elijah, Lucas, Phillip, Maude, Merel, Audrey, Christian, Alexis and Madison; a sister, Leona Clawson, Perham, MN; a sister-in-law, Kathy Guck, Perham, MN; and several nieces and nephews.



Preceding Louise in death are her parents; husband, Albert; son, Wilfred; two sisters, Florence Cashman and Delores Bucholz; and a brother, Art “Johnny” Guck.



Her family wishes to thank the staff at Perham Memorial Nursing Home for the wonderful care given to Louise during her last years.
