Lucia Garcia Franco

August 30, 2000 — June 1, 2022

Moorhead

Lucia Tiareh Garcia Franco passed on Wednesday, June 1, 2022 surrounded by the love of her family in Fargo, ND.

Lucia was born in Mazatlan, México on August 30, 2000, the daughter of Raúl Garcia P. and Maite Franco G. Lucia lived a lovely infancy in Mexico and came to live in the United States at age 7. The Garcia Franco’s settled in Ottertail, MN.

Lucia was baptized and confirmed in St. John’s Lutheran church, wherever she went, she would follow her faith and tried to form meaningful friendships.

Upon graduation from New York Mills High School in 2018, Lucia continued her studies at Minnesota State Community College in Fergus Falls, where she obtained her AA in early childhood education. Lucia moved to Moorhead, MN after graduating college and became employed at a childcare center in Fargo, ND. Children were her passion and she hoped to work as a kindergarten teacher one day.

Lucia became pregnant and gave birth to her only son, Dominique King, born in September 2021. A few months after giving birth, Lucia went back to work at the childcare center with her son. She was described by her coworkers as a bright, smart, fun, and loving teacher; “she had a special touch with some of the kids like no other” -Abbie C.

Family was very important to her, she kept in touch with her mom in a daily basis. She had plans and goals to achieve. She had her parents wedding to attend, and she was looking forward to the summertime with her son. Lucia had always wanted a family of her own. Lucia and Dominique were inseparable. Motherhood came easy to Lucia, she wanted to make sure D.K. reached all his milestones on time, she was truly an amazing mother to him. When she was away, his schedule had to be followed. She wanted to know every little detail about him and asked for lots of pictures. Little D.K. was the light of her life, her greatest accomplishment, and now her legacy.

Lucia was a beautiful, loving soul, always living life to its fullest and always striving to reach her own goals. She always had a compliment for someone, but she also wasn’t afraid to express her dislikes. She loved to dance and listen to music to forget her troubles. She loved hard and she loved blindly. She loved deep and she loved unconditionally.

Lucia will be immensely missed and survived by her dearly beloved son, Dominique King; parents Raul Garcia and Maite Franco; sisters Jessica Lopez G. and Katherin Garcia Franco; nieces Alexis and Alani Lopez; brother-in-Law Hermen Lopez I. & family.

Lucia is predeceased by her half-brother Daniel Garcia.

Visitation will be on Saturday, June 11 from 2-3 p.m. followed by a funeral service at 3:00 p.m.St. John’s Lutheran Church in Ottertail, MN.
