Mabel "Clem" Johnson, age 77 of Perham, MN died Saturday, December 8, 2012 at Perham Living. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, December 12, 2012 beginning at 2:00 PM at Schoeneberger Funeral Home in Perham. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will take place at the Perham Village Cemetery.
Mabel was born on May 31, 1935 in Hibbing, MN, the daughter of Albert and Edith (Parker) Clemens. She graduated from Hibbing High School and then went on to college and earned an x-ray tech degree. Mabel moved to Minneapolis, MN where she met Marvin Johnson. Marvin and Mabel were united in marriage on October 31, 1957 in Hibbing, MN. The couple later moved to Hoffman, MN where they raised their family. In 1973, Mabel and Marvin moved to Perham, MN. She worked for the Otter Supper Club for 20 years and then for Landmark Liquor until her retirement. She loved reading and doing crossword puzzles.
Preceding Mabel in death are her parents; her husband, Marvin; and three brothers, Jack, Tom and Albert Jr.
Surviving Mabel are her four children, Mark of Fargo, North Dakota, Chuck of Dent, Minnesota, Robin (Robert) Lee of Yelm, Washington, and Kelly (Scott) Schmidt of Perham, Minnesota; two grandchildren, Michael and Matthew; and sisters, Nelly McDonald and Gay (Wayne) Schaar.
