Marcene Elizabeth Doll, age 81 of Perham, MN, passed away peacefully on Tuesday May 27, 2025.
Marcene was born on July 18, 1943 to August and Olive (Harris) Buechler in Perham. She attended Moorhead State University where she attained her Bachelor's degree in Education.
On June 16, 1966, Marcene was united in marriage to John Doll. The couple resided in St. Louis Park, MN until 1971, then moved back to Perham. Marcene spent her entire career in elementary education, starting in the Minneapolis area, but with the majority of her tenure working for the Perham-Dent School District. Most of her teaching years were in the Dent Elementary building where she taught alongside an amazing group of educators and life-long friends.
Outside of education, Marcene enjoyed three passions - family, gardening and travel. She loved her family immensely, was a Master Gardener who always had amazing flower beds at her home and went on many adventures around the country and overseas. The Oregon coast, Alaska, Paris, Australia, Germany, Switzerland, and Iceland were some of her favorites.
She is survived by her two children and their spouses, Christine (Michael) Gebeke of Normal, IL and Joel (Michelle) Doll of Sioux Falls, SD, two grandchildren and their spouses, Rachel (Nick) Wittmeier of Brookings, SD and Nathan (Jasmine) Doll of Chicago, IL. She was preceded in death by her parents, loving husband, John, and her brother Richard.
Visitation will be 10:00-11:00 a.m. followed by the Memorial Mass at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 13, 2025 at St. Henry's Catholic Church in Perham. Interment will be in the church cemetery.
