at her home that she loved so much.
Marie Louise Schroeder was born
December 18, 1915
, the daughter of Louis and Helen (Fritsch) Schroeder in
Perham
,
MN
. Marie led a simple, country life; never needing or wanting any more than to care for her horses and her family. She loved her family of horses and raised and trained five wonderful animals for over thirty years of her life. Marie was very involved with the equestrian sport and traveled wildly with her horse. She was involved with teaching showmanship and was an adult leader for the East Otter Tail 4H program helping teach the youngsters training skills and proper care for their animals. Later in life, Marie became very active in Senior Citizen’s Rights and was very vocal about their cause. She served as Treasurer for the
Detroit
Lakes
area chapter of the American Association of Retired Persons and made several trips to the capitol speaking on behalf of all seniors in this country. Marie remained active in Senior’s Rights until her time of death.
Marie is survived by her nephews, David Kontz; Douglas (Janna) Kontz; Gary (Caiyun) Kontz; and Ron Kontz; niece, Sandy (Gary) McGee; great nephews, Aaron, Michael, and Myles Kontz; great nieces, Sara, Satera, Vanessa, Cori, and Britta Kontz; and great-great niece, Madelyn Mayer.
Preceding Marie in death are her parents; and two sisters, Bernice Rosenthal and Ann Kontz.
