Marilyn Marie Siebels, 82, of Perham, MN, died peacefully in her sleep on June 10, 2021 at Perham Living Nursing Home.
Marilyn was born on December 26, 1938 in Lincoln, NE, and is the daughter of Hazel Marie Stanley and Lee Rogert. She graduated from Lincoln Public High School in 1956 and then attended college at Wesleyan University in Lincoln, NE.
Marilyn moved to Minnesota in 1957 and began working at her family’s resort, Pine Lakes Lodge on Little Pine Lake. While working at the resort, she met the love of her life, Jim Siebels. Marilyn and Jim were married at St. Henry's Catholic Church on April 4, 1959 and were inseparable for over 50 years. She was the proud mother of two sons, Jeff and Mark. Marilyn spent countless hours at their football and basketball games as well as track and field events. Marilyn had a dog that was on the national derby list and spent many happy days training and running her dogs. She was an active member of the Catholic Daughters, serving as Grand Regent. Marilyn will always be remembered for her dedication to her family and community.
Marilyn was employed with Land O’ Lakes Creamery until 1970 and then began her career as a talented dental receptionist for Dr. Phillip Krueger for the next 30 years. Marilyn joined Jim in retirement in 2000. She spent the next ten years with Jim doing what they loved: being together, spending time with family and friends, and fishing for walleyes. Marilyn treasured her time with the “potluck” friends in Perham and had the gift of hospitality. Marilyn loved traveling to Port Aransas, TX, in the winter months with Jim.
Marilyn is survived by her loving sons, Jeff, of Perham and Mark, of St. Peter, MN; six grandchildren, Brandi (Paul) Johnson, Justin, Beth, Katrina (Douglas) Starzec and Maria (Alex) Siebels-Blechle and Joseph; three great grandchildren, Ryan and Matthew Johnson and Rory Starzec.
