Michael G. Lex, age 37, of New York Mills, MN, died Tuesday, January 8, 2008, at MeritCare, Fargo, ND. Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 12, 2008, beginning at 1:00 pm at St. Henry's Catholic Church, Perham, with Father Joe Herzing officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held Friday, January 11, at Schoeneberger Funeral Home, Perham, from 4:00 - 8:00 pm with a prayer service at 7:00 pm and one hour prior to the funeral at the funeral home.
Michael was born July 9, 1970, in New York Mills, MN, the son of Donald and Alice Lex. He graduated from New York Mills High School and went on to Alexandria Technical College for Truck Driving. Michael had been employed by Tuffy's, Olson Feed Farm, and Verndale Custom Homes. He loved ice fishing, hunting, scrapping iron, four-wheeling, trapping pocket gophers, and just hanging out with family and friends. The highlight of his life was winning a trip to Hawaii and being able to take his mother on vacation.
Michael is survived by his mother, Alice, New York Mills, MN; four sisters, Judy Lex, Hopkins, MN; Barb Lex, Fargo, ND; Mary (Rod) Osowski, East Grand Forks, MN; and Susan (Rick) Schroer, Brainerd, MN; four brothers, Peter (Karolin) Lex, Zumbrota, MN; John Lex, New York Mills, MN; Tom (Kitti) Lex, New York Mills, MN; and Steve (Michelle) Lex, St. Cloud, MN; aunts, Lois Lex and Eileen Lex, both of Dubuque, IA; uncles, Joe Hofmann and Carl Hofmann, both of Perham, MN; four nephews, and ten nieces.
Preceding Michael in death are his father, Donald Lex; and grandparents, Anthony and Ida Hofmann, and Paul and Theresa Lex.
Michael gave the gift of life through organ donation.
