Norman Loyd Dale, 89, of Perham, MN, died June 26, 2012, at Perham Living.
Norman was born on July 15, 1922, in Star Lake Township, the son of Lewis A. and Marie C. (Martineau) Dale. On August 5, 1944, Norman entered the U.S. Army, where he was Technician 5th Grade in Company B, 302nd Infantry Regiment and 94th Infantry Division during World War II. He was honorably discharged On July 8, 1946. Norman married LaVerne Romann, in Wadena, MN, on August 2, 1947. He was employed as a Milk Operator at Land O'Lakes Creamery in Perham. Norman was an active member, for 50 years, in the American Legion and VFW, and participated in the American Legion Honor Guard. He was also a member, for over 50 years, of the United Methodist Church in Perham. Norman's interests were many including gardening; wood working; fishing; baseball games and football games, especially his grandchildren's. He was an avid bicycle rider since childhood and an avid recycler, picking up any cans along the way. He enjoyed playing cards, particularly cribbage, and thoroughly enjoyed his family, especially his grand- and great-grandchildren.
Surviving Norman are his three daughters, Deanna (Ron) Rosen, Norleen (Mitch) Peterson, and Cheryl (Tim) Olson; grandchildren, Brent Rosen, Nicholas (Jessica) Rosen, Philip (Kristen) Rosen, Jennifer (Ron) Fuchs, Derek (Tessa) Braukmann, Kirk (Amanda) Braukmann, Brandon (Angie) Olson and Troy Olson; 7 great-grandchildren; one sister, Darlene Zosel and many nieces and nephews.
Preceding Norman in death are his parents; wife, LaVerne, in 2002; grandson, Hunter Rosen; sisters, Olive Larson, Louise Hanson, and Delia Dale; brothers, Eugene, Wilfred and Orville Dale, and a son-in-law, Denis Braukmann.
