Norman Melvin Huwe, age 83, of Perham, MN, died peacefully at his home, with hospice care, on Monday, April 30, 2012.
Norman was born August 13, 1928, in Perham, MN. His parents were Albert and Emma (Janke) Huwe. Norman was baptized and confirmed at St. John's Lutheran Church in Corliss Township.
Norman was raised on a farm in Butler Township, MN, and attended school at District 228. He served in the U.S. Army from 1951-1953. On July 17, 1953, Norman was united in marriage to Jeanette Beck at Bethany Lutheran Church in Spruce Grove Township, MN. They settled and lived on his parents' home farm for 33 years then moved nearby to farm until Norman was 80 years old. Their marriage was blessed with four children and eight grandchildren. Norman enjoyed his family, farming, hunting, and loved playing cards.
Surviving Norman is his wife, Jeanette Huwe, of Butler Twp, MN; his children, Susan (Lynn) Buringrud, of Grand Junction, CO, Larry (Nancy) Huwe and Leslie Huwe, both of Perham , MN, and Cindy (Andy) Appleton, of Cedar Falls, IA; his grandchildren, Douglas and Nicholas Buringrud, Lindsay (Jonathan) Varns, Ethan and Audrey Huwe, Holly and Austin Appleton; a sister, Leona Matz, Perham, MN; brothers, Arnold (Eleanor) Huwe, of Menahga, MN, Eldor (Margaret) Huwe, of Menahga, MN, and Albert, Jr. (Violet) Huwe, of New York Mills, MN as well as many relatives, neighbors and friends.
Preceding Norman in death were his parents; grandson, Thomas Buringrud; siblings and their spouses, Thelma (Kearney) Dickson, Helen (Marvin) Anhorn, Raymond (Anne) Huwe, and Kenneth (Lois)Huwe, and brother-in-law, Edwin Matz.
