Memorial services for Orel E. Genoch, age 86, of Richville, MN, will be at Schoeneberger Funeral Home, Perham, MN, Saturday, February 7, 2004, beginning at 3:00 p.m., with Chaplain Harry Olson, of Pioneer Retirement Community, Fergus Falls, officiating. There will be atime of family gathering one hour prior to the memorial service at the funeral home. Orel died Sunday, February 1, 2004, at Lake Region Hospital, Fergus Falls, MN.
Orel was born the daughter of Pearl Eckert and Aubrey Grover, March 6, 1917, in Richville, MN. She married Gustav Genoch, October 27, 1937, at St. John?s Lutheran Church, Dora Township, rural Dent, MN. He died September 1, 1989. Orel lived in her home, which her family homesteaded for over 100 years, until May 2003. Those who knew Orel know of her love of nature, whether it was the beauty of spring flowers or the call of the sparrow, you would find Orel communing with nature. Orel knew how to find beauty in all that surrounded her, and that beauty spread to all she encountered. We will miss her gentle eyes and caring heart but with every gentle breeze that touches the boughs of the willow, she will touch our hearts.
Surviving Orel are her children, Linda (LeRoy) Jacobsen, of Minneapolis, MN, Edward (Bernice) Genoch, of Dent, MN, Ruth Anderson, of Rothsay, MN, Alfred ?Al? (Vicky) Genoch, of Dent, MN; eight grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren and one sister Ida Jane Sherman, of Fergus Falls.
Orel is preceded in death by her husband, Gustav; four brothers, Thomas, Oakley, Jefferson, and Cyril as well as two grandchildren, Penne (Jacobson) Langlie, and Shane Genoch.
