Patty (Layman) Meyer, age 52 of Perham, MN passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loved ones on Wednesday, December 3, 2014. Visitation will be held on Sunday, December 7 from 4:00-7:00 PM with a prayer service at 6:00 PM at Schoeneberger Funeral Home. Visitation will resume on Monday, December 8 beginning at 10:00 AM followed by the funeral service at 11:00 AM at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Perham with Pastor John Husband officiating. Burial will be held in Oak Hill Cemetery, Deer Creek, MN.
Patty was born on October 3, 1962 in Wadena, MN to Bill and Jean (Glass) Layman. She graduated from Deer Creek High School in 1981. On September 7, 1985, Patty was united in marriage to Mike Meyer at St. Helen's Episcopal Church in Wadena. Together they had three children, Meagan, Sam and Jack.
Patty loved sports, especially baseball and the Minnesota Twins. Her children were her life and she so enjoyed going to their activities. She spent over 26 years in the optical business as an optician and office manager. Patty will be remembered as a morning person, happily singing and whistling.
Preceding Patty in death is her father, William "Bill" Layman; her brother, Jerry Layman; and her brother-in-law, Brad Salquist.
Surviving Patty is her husband, Mike; her children, Meagan, Sam and Jack; her mother, Jean Layman; her brothers, Billy Layman, Tom (Jean) Layman and Bob (Sue) Layman; her sisters, Kathy (Pete) Zavadil and Nancy Salquist; along with many nieces and nephews.
