Paul Rotta

Paul W. Rotta, age 55, of Fergus Falls , MN , died Sunday, December 14, 2008, at the University of Minnesota-Fairview Hospital, Minneapolis, MN .


Paul William Rotta was born February 19, 1953 , in Perham , MN , the son of Albert and Rita (Berns) Rotta. Paul graduated from Perham High School in 1971 and then continued his education at Wadena Tech studying to be an electrician. He was a reserve officer for the Perham Police Department and then became a part-time officer in Perham. Paul was Chief of Police in Erskine , MN , from 1983-88. He also had his own business in woodworking; Rotta’s Wooden Craft and Upholstery in Fertile, MN, and continued to work part-time for the Fertile Police Department until moving to Fergus Falls, MN, in 1999, where Paul was a member of the Otter Tail County Sheriff’s Posse. He enjoyed being “Grandpa” and kept himself busy with all sorts of projects.



Paul is survived by two sons, Doug (Tara) Rotta, Cloquet, MN; and Chris (Kelly) Rotta, Wendell, MN; mother, Rita Rotta, Perham, MN; three grandchildren, Gwendolyn, Laura, and Morgan; three brothers, David, Greg, and Tom Rotta; and five sisters, Dorothy Doll, Theresa Zwart, Christine Branch, Beverly Rotta, and Eileen Branch.



Preceding Paul in death is his father, Albert; and a sister, Margaret.
