Richard "Dick" Alan Eickschen passed away on August 29, 2012 at Perham Living. Dick was born on March 11, 1929 to Elmer and Elizabeth "Betty" (Plotnik) Eickschen in Browerville, MN. After graduation Dick worked as a railroad telegrapher for a couple of years in Michigan before moving back to Perham to work at the bank. He was employed with Standard Oil for the majority of his life until he retired in 1990. Dick was united in marriage to Kathryn Ruth Hammers on June 30, 1951 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Dent, MN. Together they had four children, Sandy, Connie, Mike, and Dan.
Dick is survived by his wife Kate; his children Sandy (John) Charles, Connie (Mark) Koehnen, and Dan (Sue) Eickschen; a sister Mary; 9 Grandchildren; and 10 Great-Grandchildren with number 11 on the way.
Preceding Dick in death are his parents, Elmer and Betty; his son Michael; and his brother Roger.
Funeral services will be held at Perham Community Church, Perham, MN, on Saturday, September 1, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Tom Mitchell officiating. A visitation will also be held at the church one hour prior to services at 1:00 p.m.
Dick was an avid fisherman who enjoyed a quiet, peaceful, country life. He always loved spending time with his grandkids. As Dick would say D – U – N……Done.
