Robert Richter

Robert M. “Bob” Richter, age 87, of Perham, MN, died Friday, November 27, 2009, at the Perham Memorial Home .


Robert “Bob” Richter was born January 17, 1922 , the son of Peter and Margaret (Hopp) Richter in Wadena , MN . He helped farm and attended school near Wadena through the eighth grade. On November 24, 1947 , he was united in marriage to Betty Erickson and together they had two sons, Michael and Ken. Bob worked for Hallot Construction building power lines across the western United States . In 1955 they settled in Fergus Falls , MN , where Bob started working for Ottertail Power Company. In 1964 they moved to Perham , MN , where he was lead lineman until he retired in 1985. Bob enjoyed hunting, fishing and cutting wood. Betty passed away in 1991. In May 2008 Bob moved into the nursing home where he was a much loved member of the Burlington Household until his death. Bob was an active member of St. Henry’s Catholic Church and the Holy Family Catholic Aid Society.



Bob is survived by his son, Ken (Linda) Richter; daughter in law, Judy Richter; five grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; four sisters, Veronica (Warren) Beeman, Jane (Ervin) Weber, Mary (Herb) Lehmkuhl and Sophie (Robert) Roser; five brothers, Don Richter, Ed (Lorraine) Richter, Jim (Ginny) Richter, Jack (Judy) Richter and Arnie (Carolyn) Richter; and many nieces and nephews.



Preceding Bob in death are his parents; wife, Betty; son, Michael; brother, Ray; and sister, Eleanor Roggenkamp.
