Robert Thurston

Robert R. “Bob” Thurston, age 74, of Dent, MN, died Monday, November 23, 2009 , at the Frazee Care Center , Frazee , MN .


Bob was born September 23, 1935 , in Aldrich , MN , the son of Lenard and Marjorie (Waln) Thurston. On July 9, 1986 , he was united in marriage to Carol Pilgrim in Dent, MN. Bob was a truck driver starting at a very young age driving dump trucks for his uncle and grandfather. He also hauled grain in MN and ND. He leased his truck out to Ellsworth Freight Lines, Austin , MN , for a couple of years. Bob also worked for Fred Bauck in the lumber yard in Dent, MN, and did the grave work for Schoeneberger Funeral Home, Perham , MN , starting in 1997 until he retired in 2006. Bob enjoyed hunting and fishing and watching NASCAR and horse racing on TV.



Bob is survived by his wife, Carol, Dent, MN; three daughters, Tammy (Denny) Neisius, Verndale, MN; Ronda (Jack) Kern, Sebeka, MN; and Sherrie (Steve) Lorentz, Elk River, MN; two stepsons, Randy (Cim) Melbye, Dent, MN; and Ricky (Cheryl) Melbye, Moorhead, MN; eight grandchildren; one great granddaughter; five step grandchildren; and one step great grandson.
