Robert Tix

Robert Ronald Tix, age 59, of Ottertail , MN , formerly of Champlin , MN , died Monday, July 1, 2009 , at the VA Hospital, Fargo , ND .


Rob was born October 2, 1949 , in Grand Rapids , MN , the son of Robert and Violet (King) Tix. He graduated from Anoka High School , Anoka , MN , in 1968. Rob continued his education at Anoka Technical College receiving his Electronic Degree in 1970. On July 16, 1971 , he was united in marriage to Diane Rae Schroeder in Anoka . Rob served in the US Air Force and was a member of the Champlin Legion. He had been employed by Mobile Communications, KR Communications, Baldor Motor and Drive as a design engineer, and at North Hennepin Community College for four years before retiring. Rob designed their home on Ottertail Lake where they retired to. For one season, after retiring, Rob worked at the Ottertail Home Center . He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, building, electronics, and mechanics. He was often referred to as “Garage Bob.” He also had a great love for his dogs, Samantha and Abigale.



Rob is survived by his wife, Diane, Ottertail, MN; mother, Violet Daugherty, Apache Junction, AZ; two sisters, Amie Myrtle Felke, Anoka, MN; and Diane (Don) Hahn, Soldotna, AK; mother-in-law, Jacquelin Schroeder, Anoka, MN; brothers-in-law, Thomas and Tim Schroeder; sister-in-law, Theresa (Dan) Wida; four nieces, seven nephews, five great nieces, and five great nephews.



Rob is preceded in death by his father, Robert.
