Roger Bartel

Roger Bartel, age 72, of Perham , MN , passed away peacefully into God’s grace on Thursday, December 10, 2009 , at St. Mary’s Hospital, Rochester , MN .


Roger was born November 7, 1937 , in Frazee , MN , the son of Henry and Gretchen Bartel. Roger was married to his true love, JoAnn. He began his career in road construction but moved onto Anoka Hospital ’s chemical dependency unit as a counselor. Roger retired early to care for his parents but continued to counsel those in need. He loved bowling, hunting, fishing, gardening and time with family and friends. Roger will be missed and fondly remembered by his family and friends.



Roger is survived by his loving wife, JoAnn, Perham , MN ; a son, Randy (Jennifer), Apple Valley , MN ; daughter, Sandy (Michael) Satovich, Golden Valley , MN ; three grandchildren; a brother, Dan (Christine) Bartel; and a sister, Ardelle (Carlos) Loudaler.



Preceding Roger in death are his parents, Henry and Gretchen Bartel.
