Romelle I. Nelson

Romelle Nelson, age 84, of Perham, MN passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 25, 2023 in Perham Living Transitions under the care of Hospice of the Red River Valley.

Romelle Ilah Olson was born near Ivanhoe, MN on February 11, 1939, the daughter of Roman and Thelma (Randa) Olson. After graduating from Perham High School in 1957, Romelle attended nursing school in Minneapolis, MN. She went on to care for others throughout her life as a nurse and a massage therapist. On April 23, 1960, Romelle was united in marriage to Larry Nelson and together raised their four children. People close to Romelle will remember her being active in bible study and Stephen Ministry. She also enjoyed golfing, fishing, traveling, playing cards, quilting, knitting, and sewing, but most of all, Romelle loved watching her grandchildren in all their activities.

Preceding Romelle in death were her parents; her brothers Thomas and Wayne Olson; and her sister Betty Ann Olson.

Surviving Romelle are her husband Larry Nelson of Perham; children Miles (Patty) Nelson of Perham, Tron Nelson of Minneapolis, MN, Aaron Nelson of Perham, and Ilah (Ryan) Schwartz of New London, MN; her grandchildren Barry (Rebecca) Nelson of Andover, MN, Rachel (Steven) Pfahning of Farmington, MN, Olivia Nelson of Eden Prairie, MN, Benjamin Nelson of Perham, Corbin Schwartz of New London, and Emerson Schwartz of Sioux Falls, SD; her great-grandchild Kaleb Miles Nelson; her sister Ruthie Burgau of Alexandria, MN; along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be 4:00-8:00 p.m. on Monday, April 10, 2023 at Schoeneberger Funeral & Cremation Service. Visitation will resume from 10:00-11:00 a.m. followed by the Memorial Service at 11:00 on Tuesday, April 11 at Calvary Lutheran Church in Perham. Following the Memorial Service, lunch will be at Lakeside Tap & Event Center, 2727 450th St, Perham, MN 56573. Private family interment will be in Saint John's Lutheran Church South Cemetery (Bethlehem Cemetery).
