Ronald Hedlund

Ronald “Fred” Hedlund, age 49, of Perham, MN, died on Wednesday, August 12, 2009, in the Frazee Care Center after a 2 ½ year battle with brain cancer.


Fred was born in Detroit Lakes , MN , on December 19, 1959 , the son of Wallace and Norma (Quinlan) Hedlund. He was Baptized and Confirmed at Lund Church . He attended Technical College in Detroit Lakes after high school for Agricultural Engineering and Fashion Merchandising. He then served in the Navy as a Gunners Mate and Guns Third Class on the U.S.S. Sierra (AD-18). After he was honorably discharged he started driving for the Lady Slipper Limo Company and working for Shooting Star Casino. He was the Entertainment Host and was very well known and loved for keeping everyone pleased. He will be missed by many.



On September 9, 1999 , Fred married the love of his life, Christine Ann and added lots of loved ones to his family. They renewed their love for each other on September 9, 2008 , on their 9 year wedding anniversary.



Fred’s interests included hunting, fishing, four-wheeling, spending time with loved ones, and listening to loud music. He was also a member of the El Zagel Shriners.



Fred is survived by his wife, Christine of Perham, MN; son, Jade of Detroit Lakes MN; mother, Norma of Detroit Lakes, MN; brother, Jeryl; sister, Jean; stepdaughter, Joline; stepson, Adam; and numerous uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins, and grandchildren.



Preceding Fred in death is his 9 month old brother, John; 18 month old sister, Diane; and his father, Wallace.
