Perham, MN

Ronald Vernon Lien, age 66 of Perham, MN passed away peacefully on January 11, 2022, at home surrounded by his wife Pam and his sons Eric and Craig.

Ron was born February 5, 1955, in St. Paul, MN the son of Vernon and Alvina (Graf) Lien. He attended Brooklyn Center High School and went on to become a master electrician. He was united in marriage to Pamela Doyle in 1981 where they started a family in Coon Rapids, MN. In 1998, they fulfilled their lifelong dream of moving the family onto the lake in Perham, MN. There he enjoyed the lake life and started his own electrical company. Ron worked hard and played hard. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and the outdoors. "Captain Ron" loved to entertain at the lake and be around his family and friends. Some of the many highlights were fishing openers, 4th of Julys, and Smokefests. He was always ready to help others. Ron's greatest love was his family. He doted on his grandchildren and attended all of their games and events; Grandpa Ron never said no. Everyone that met Ron loved Ron.

Ron was strong and faithful throughout his short battle with cancer. He will be greatly missed. Ron was preceded in death by his parents Vernon and Alvina, and his sister Dianne Fay.

Ron is survived by his loving wife of 40 years Pamela (Doyle) Lien; their sons Eric (Cindy) Lien and Craig (Becky) Lien; his beloved siblings Shirley (Jeff) Belknap, Jerry (Becky) Lien, Sheri (Rob) Meyers, and Marty (Marilyn) Lien; his grandchildren Brennan, Esne, Esta, Halle, and Ava; along with many other dear close relatives, and friends he considered family.

A private Celebration of Life gathering will be held for Ron in the spring.
