Sandee Lee Huebsch, age 74, passed away on June 28, 2026 at Perham Living. There are people in this world who bring joy to each room they encounter. The beautiful soul we discuss below was one of these people. As I look back at my mother's amazing life here among us, her sweet personality sits proudly in the center of her humanity.
Sandee Lee Huebsch was the 13th angel given to this world by Ida and Hjalmer Jacobson on August 10, 1951. She was the youngest of the Scandihuvian lot, having several nieces and nephews who were actually older than her, and having the privilege of being the only child of Ida's to be born in a hospital. Being the youngest of a litter of 13 probably played a large part in the woman she became. She started her life here in Minnesota, where the bulk of her childhood was spent washing boats and living the life of a resort owner's child. Franklin Lake was the epicenter of our mother's world-the beginning chapter that defined her love of lakes, sunsets, and smiles.
The family relocated to California as she entered high school. A few years was all our grandfather could stand of the place, so back to Minnesota they came, where Ma graduated from Pelican Rapids. Our mother was a masterful artist, and art school called her name for post-secondary studies. She took her art degree and relocated back to California, where most of her siblings were. She worked for Intel and Tektronix when drafts people still drafted by hand, and these two companies were just fledgling startups. She had a great time working in and enjoying California for most of her 20s.
After meeting our father, the chapter of motherhood began back here in Minnesota, on Little McDonald Lake. Ma raised four of us heathens, with countless trips to Grandma's house between Franklin and Pelican. The Jacobson family was a close family, and the door to our grandparents' home was always open and welcoming for everyone. We become who we are in this world by witnessing those around us. The laughter and joy that came from that place will echo into eternity.
Ma was the same kind of woman her mother was: eternally kind and always finding something positive to praise. Her smile was contagious and her love was endless. We all have mothers and we all have to say goodbye to our heroes. This is obviously the hardest goodbye this kid has ever had to say.
Thank you for showing us what love is and how to be a good person, Ma. Your physical presence will be sorely missed, but we know you will be with us, watching over us until we meet again.
Visitation will be at 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. followed by the Memorial Service at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 11, 2026 at Calvary Lutheran Church in Perham, MN, with a luncheon to follow.
