Steven Andor Chirstianson was born August 9, 1948. He was raised and attended school in Barnesville, MN. He enlisted in the Army on August 1, 1968 and rose to the rank of staff sergeant. He served a tour in Vietnam. Upon completion of his military service, he earned his degree in architectural drafting and started his career at Capp Homes in Minneapolis, MN as a draftsman and unit coordinator, eventually transferring into sales with Capp Homes.
Steven started Raven Associates with his partner Bill Sherlin, building homes in the Fargo area. Bill took a different direction and Steve, a builder and architectural designer with his construction partner, Rick Zook (Zook/Christianson Construction Inc) created beautiful homes for other people for many years. As Steve stated, “I made long boards short.” He could make or fix anything. A man of many talents.
During his retirement years he always said you have to have a hobby. Steve loved fishing as often as he could go and finding that one glorious rock to polish. He carved diamond willow canes for anyone who needed one. He loved wood turning and turned many bowls/vessels and urns for others. He won awards in VA shows including the National Veterans Creative Arts competition in woodworking.
Steve and Junelle loved to travel to see new and exciting places and were lucky to have gone on various trips and cruises to many countries. Steve enjoyed sending out his thoughts for the day to friends and prided himself in searching for the perfect breakfast dish to make and serve to Junelle in bed. The Friday date nights will be missed.
Steve, age 77, passed away on Sunday, April 12, 2026 at the U of M Hospital in Minneapolis, MN. Steve is survived by his wife, Junelle (the love of his life) would have been 53 happy years on June 2; sister, Julie Jorgensen, Cedar Rapids, IA; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Steve was a great guy and friend to many and will be greatly missed.
