Susan Marie Baumgart

Susan Marie Baumgart, age 73, of Frazee, MN passed away Thursday, March 26, 2026, in Sanford Hospice House, Fargo, ND. Visitation will be 4:00-7:00 p.m. with a Rosary at 6:30 p.m. and Parish Prayers at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 31 at Schoeneberger Funeral & Cremation Service in Perham, MN. Visitation will resume from 10:00-11:00 a.m. followed by the Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 1 at St. Henry’s Catholic Church in Perham. Burial will follow at St. Stanislaus Catholic Cemetery, Perham, MN.

Susan was born December 26, 1952, in Perham, the daughter of Frank and Cecilia (Schornack) Sczygiel. She attended St. Henry’s School until eighth grade and graduated from Perham High School. Susan attended Wadena Technical College and received a diploma in cosmetology. She was a beautician for a few years before she started working at the Perham Dairy Queen. Susan and Lowell Baumgart were united in marriage on June 30, 1979. Susan will be remembered as a devoted mother, daughter, grandmother, and wife. While raising their four children, she spent 42 years working at Tuffy’s Pet Food where she was blessed with lasting friendships. She enjoyed crafting, sewing, gardening, cooking and baking. She spent many hours watching the hummingbirds, deer, and other wildlife in the country. Susan was an active member of the local Multiple Sclerosis Society and a lifetime member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary.

Surviving Susan is her husband, Lowell; her children, Anne (Randy) Nelson, Heather (Chad) Lindberg, Michael (Denelle) Baumgart, and Patricia (Jon) Warner; her grandchildren, Grace, Ian, Celia, and Flora Nelson, Jackson, Alexander, Lucas, Max, Caleb, and Annie Lindberg, Kaylee (Tanner) Kasel, Hudson, Paige, and Shelby Baumgart; and her great-granddaughter, Oaklynn; her sisters, Kathy (Joe) Hemmelgarn, Marge (Barry) Hansen, and Rose (Lawrence) Suchy; along with her nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Preceding Susan in death were her parents and her brothers, Jerome and Adam Sczygiel.
