Terry Franklin Knight age 61 passed away peacefully at his home in Frazee under the care of Hospice of the Red River Valley Tuesday June 24th after a short battle with cancer.
Visitation will be held on Thursday July 3rd 2014 beginning at 10:00 am followed by the Memorial service at 11:00 am all at Schoeneberger Funeral home in Perham MN.
Terry was born April 5th 1953 in Fergus Falls, MN He grew up in Perham where he was confirmed at Calvary Lutheran Church and graduated from Perham High School in 1971. He was a member of the Boy Scouts for many years with his father John Knight as his scout leader. After High School he attended Brainerd Votech for Landscaping. On July 12th 1975 he married Gail Martinson and in 1977 they were blessed with a daughter Lora. Terry had a variety of jobs, one of which was in Masonry and he became a talented brick layer. He worked for KLN Enterprises for the last 30 years retiring recently due to illness. As an avid outdoors man Terry loved hunting and fishing something he pick up from his parents John and Marge. His latest passion was fly fishing which he enjoyed doing on the rivers in Wyoming. He looked forward for fall and the preparations for deer hunting season with his longtime friend Ed Delany. Terry met Judy Wegner in 2001 and they have been together ever since. They have enjoyed many things together like camping, traveling, bowling, gardening and their many trips to one of their favorite places Yellowstone National Park. Terry was a simple man, that was part of his charm. He was an extremely easy going, kind hearted man and will be terribly missed by all who knew and loved him. He is survived by his father John Knight, daughter Lora (Chad) Zerr, grandchildren , Hunter and Kaylynn Zerr, brothers David and Danny, sisters Mardella, Carol, Jeanette, and Phyllis. His Partner of 13 years Judy Wegner and her children in which he treated as his own and has grown very close to over the years: Sheena (Daniel) Stenger, Donell (Cory) Ard, Kyler (Lindsay) Wegner Kami (Rick Benke) Wegner, Angela Bergeron and grandchildren, Jade, Kienna and Wesley Ard. Preceding him in death is his Mother Marge Knight.
