William III

March 24, 1953 — January 20, 2013

William R. "Bill" Warner III age 59 of New York Mills, Minnesota died on Sunday, January 20, 2013 in his home. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, January 23, 2013 beginning at 11:00 AM at St. Peter's Lutheran Church in New York Mills with Pastor Ryan D. G. Stout officiating. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 22, 2013 from 4:00 - 7:00 PM at St. Peter's Lutheran Church, New York Mills. Visitation will also be held one hour prior to the memorial service at the church. Burial will take place in the Bethlehem Lutheran Cemetery, rural Perham, Minnesota.

Bill was born on March 24, 1953 the son of William F. Jr. and Evelyn (Hoehne) Warner in Perham. Bill was baptized and confirmed at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Butler, Minnesota. He graduated from New York Mills High School and went on to attend the University of Minnesota – Crookston and Moorhead State University. After school Bill taught two years of junior college in Belcourt, North Dakota. On August 14, 1982 Bill was united in marriage to Connie Breitenfeldt at St. Peter's Lutheran Church in New York Mills.

Bill farmed in the Butler area until 2005 when he and Connie moved to New York Mills. He operated Warner Tax Service until the time of his death. Bill was a Stephen Minister and an active member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church. Bill was on the New York Mills City Council, recently appointed as acting Mayor. He was the Treasurer of the New York Mills Regional Cultural Center Board and Vice-Chair on the New York Mills Elders Home Board. He was a member of the New York Mills Lions Club and Treasurer for the East Otter Tail Dark House Association. Bill enjoyed deer hunting, prairie dog hunting, fishing, woodturning, stained glass work, traveling, camping and attending Bluegrass festivals. Bill will be remembered as a loving husband who was very proud of his children.

Surviving Bill is his wife, Connie of New York Mills, Minnesota; son, William B. Warner IV of Butler, Minnesota; daughter, Macailia Warner of Rochester, Minnesota; and sister, Sylvia (Maynard) Falk of New York Mills, Minnesota.

Preceding Bill in death are his parents; and niece, Cheryl Falk.
