William "Bill" A. Usselman, age 69 of Perham, MN passed away on Friday, November 15, 2013 at Sanford Health in Fargo, ND. He fought a long, hard battle with cancer and a stroke. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 23, 2013 at 3:30 PM at Schoeneberger Funeral Home in Perham. Visitation will be on Saturday at the funeral home from 2:00-4:00 PM.
Bill was born on November 29, 1943 in Ipswich, SD to Louis and Mary (Blando) Usselman. He was raised on the family farm along with his sisters, Bertha (Bill) McVicars and Patricia (Dale) Frost of Lewistown, ID; and three brothers, Jim (Kathy) Usselman of New Hope, MN, Bob (Irene) Usselman of Apple Valley, MN and Tom (Linda) Usselman of Aberdeen, SD. He worked construction and had a fencing company with his brother Tom in South Dakota, worked at Nielsons Roofing in Minneapolis and 38 years at Tuffy's Pet Foods until his retirement in May of 2012.
He married Ginger Limmer 44 years ago on May 31, 1969 at St. Lawrence Catholic Church – Rush Lake. Bill was blessed with three daughters, Kari (Chris) Robert and Sheri Usselman both of Phoenix, AZ and step-daughter, Nancy LImmer Soltis (Ron Stewart) of Elmdale, MN. Grandchildren, Lilly and Desmond Robert filled "Pop-Pop's" heart with overwhelming love and joy. He also so loved his step-granddaughter, Abria Stewart who sang many beautiful songs to her "Pa-Pa."
Bill was a quiet, easy-going soul who loved his family, friends and many special nieces and nephews with all of his heart. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, wood-working and being with people. Bill served his country in the US Army from 1965-1967 and 13 months overseas in Korea.
Preceding Bill in death are his parents, Louis and Mary; his brothers, Bob and Jim; and infant sister, Irene.
