Daniel Darco, 65, of Perham, MN, died Thursday, June 3, 2021, at his home under the care of Hospice of the Red River Valley.

Daniel Henry Darco III was born January 11, 1956 in Perham, the son of Daniel “Jay” and Joanne (Loerzel) Darco. Danny graduated from Perham High School in 1974. He will be remembered as a master mechanic, starting out at six years old turning wrenches at dad's shop in Dent. Later he owned many businesses including OK Tire stores in Perham, Pelican Rapids, and Dent, Davey Jones Liquor Locker in Dent, and Huckleberry's Bar & Grill in Dent.

Danny’s hobbies included racing at several tracks in Minnesota. As a race car driver, he won many trophies over the years and was the 1997 Fergus Falls track champion with his late model car. He enjoyed cooking and spending time with his girlfriend, Jan, woodworking with his friend, Dennis, and taking road trips with his friend, Al. He also enjoyed spending time with his cats Spophey, Daisy Mae, Penelope Rose, Annie, and Sugar Baby.

Danny enjoyed spending time with his many friends whom he thought the world of: Al, Dennis, Tim, Stevie, T.C., Pete, Doc, Jim, Kevin, Stan, Ron, Dan, Mark, and many more. He enjoyed early morning coffee with his friends at the coffee shops in Perham, Dent, and Pelican Rapids.

Surviving Danny is his girlfriend of 20 years, Jan Anson; his daughters Heather (David) Darco-Carlson and Shannon Darco; granddaughters Taylee, Savannah, Madison, and Gracie Jo; his brother David "Beaver" Darco; two uncles Everette Darco and Kenneth Loerzel; and many cousins.

Preceding Danny in death were his parents and his brother Dean.

A Celebration of Life Open House will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 25, 2021 at Danny and Jan’s home.
